Basketball Recap: Trinity Prep Takes a Loss

Trinity Prep lost against Victory Baptist last Friday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Trinity Prep Lions came up short against the Victory Baptist Warrior, falling 79-58. The Lions have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Trinity Prep lost, don't look at David Kedar. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Kedar a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aboubacar Sylla, who posted nine points in addition to six rebounds and four blocks.

Dontaye Bell continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Victory Baptist, dropping a double-double on 24 points and 16 boards. Victory Baptist is 8-4 when Bell posts ten or more rebounds, but 4-5 otherwise. Isaiah Davis was another key player, putting up 13 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Trinity Prep's loss dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Victory Baptist, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Trinity Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-39 victory against Faith Christian Academy on the 28th. As for Victory Baptist, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 71-40 win against Sugar Hill Christian Academy on the 28th.
