Baseball Recap: Grant Union Comes Up Short

If Grant Union was riding high fresh off their 23-3 takedown of Elgin on Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Prospectors fell just short of the Heppner/Ione Mustangs by a score of 10-9 on Tuesday. The loss continues a trend for the Prospectors in their meetings with the Mustangs: they've now lost four in a row.

Grant Union's defeat dropped their record down to 10-9. As for Heppner/Ione, the win (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 7-1.

Coming up, Grant Union will head out to challenge Irrigon at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. Heppner/Ione will be paying especially close attention to the Prospectors' contest: after the Prospectors face off against the Knights, they'll take on Heppner/Ione again at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
