Baseball Game Preview: Jackson Christian Eagles vs. Chester County Eagles

We've got a battle between Eagles coming up. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Chester County will be up against a hot Jackson Christian squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Eagles put the hurt on University School of Jackson with a sharp 15-2 win on Tuesday. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Jackson Christian saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was JT Mullins, who scored two runs while going 1-for-5.

Mullins wasn't the only one working in the hit department: Jackson Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in April of 2024.

Meanwhile, Chester County had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by an 11-3 margin over the Tigers.

Lane Estes made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. That stolen base marked the first that he snagged this season.

In other batting news, Dean Estes was a standout: he scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That stolen base was his first of the season. Ethan Burks was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.

Jackson Christian's victory bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Chester County, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.

Jackson Christian couldn't quite get it done against Chester County in their previous matchup back in March as they fell 6-3. Can Jackson Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
