Piling up yards and points is the name of the game in 2016.

Expect to see points in bunches with these programs.

At the high school and college level, football is in an up-tempo, high-scoring, attacking offensive era.

Pulling from our 2015 statistical database (which included data from more than 10,000 teams nationwide), nearly 200 quarterbacks nationally threw for over 3,000 yards and over 30 surpassed 4,000 – totals hat would have been incomprehensible 25 years ago.

If busy scoreboards and basketball on grass is your thing, find a way to check out one of these five teams this fall.

Northwestern (Rock Hill, S.C.)

The No. 17 Trojans return an eye-popping 97 percent of their high-octane offense that averaged a state-high 44 points per game and produced 144 touchdowns in capturing a South Carolina Class 4A Division II state title last year. Three-star quarterback and Ohio commit Gage Moloney will lead the air-raid attack after posting 3,969 passing yards, 506 rushing yards and 63 total TDs last season. MaxPreps Freshman All-American receiver Jamario Holley and Jordan Starkes combined for 1,991 receiving yards and 25 TDs and figure to be a deadly duo. The Trojans can also pound opponents into submission with returning three-star running back, and ECU commit Jerry Howard, who recorded an impressive 1,570 rushing yards and 25 total TDs last season.

Lake Travis (Austin, Texas)

The No. 20 Cavaliers piled up 7,185 yards, 708 points and 135 touchdowns in 2015. Three-star quarterback and SMU commit Charlie Brewer will run the show after logging 3,421 passing yards, 584 rushing yards and 51 total touchdowns last season en route to a Texas Class 6A Division 2 state championship appearance. Brewer should have a fun time slinging the ball with an array of weapons at his disposal.

St. Stanislaus (Bay St. Louis, Miss.)

The country's No. 16 pro-style quarterback Myles Brennan shreds defenses. The LSU commit compiled the nation's second most total yards last season (5,745), along with a whopping 63 total touchdowns in leading the Rock-a-Chaws to the Mississippi Class 4A state title game.

Bishop Gorman (Las Vegas, Nev.)

The Gaels averaged 51 points per game while garnering their seventh consecutive Nevada state title. No. 3 Gorman returns 83 percent of its offense and arguably America's top playmaker in Ohio State commit Tate Martell. The nation's No. 2 dual-threat quarterback racked up 2,608 passing yards, 604 rushing yards and 41 total touchdowns as a junior. He owns a perfect 28-0 record under center over the past two years. He'll have the luxury of handing the ball off to the nation's No. 11 all-purpose back and Cal commit Biaggio Walsh, who recorded 2,451 rushing yards and 36 total TDs last year. The Gaels will compete against arguably the toughest regular season schedule.

Calabasas (Calif.)

The Coyotes offensive onslaught starts with four-star signal caller and Nebraska commit Tristan Gebbia. The nation's No. 8 pro-style quarterback threw for 4,435 yards and 51 total touchdowns last season. Five-star Darnay Holmes is not only the nation's No. 2 cornerback and 10th overall prospect, but he's also one of the most dangerous playmakers in America. Holmes racked up 1,751 total yards and 20 TDs last season. Throw in four-star wideout and Nebraska commit Keyshawn Johnson Jr., who tallied 944 receiving yards and six TDs, and the Coyotes have one of the top receiver tandems in the country.
