Alburnett was the 6-3 winner over Maquoketa Valley when they last played one another on Monday, but their luck changed this time around. The Pirates fell 5-1 to the Wildcats on Monday. The contest marked the Pirates' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Alburnett's defeat dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Maquoketa Valley, their win bumped their record up to 6-1.

Alburnett wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 5-1 victory against Anamosa on the 4th. As for Maquoketa Valley, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 4-3 win against Central City on the 5th.
