Basketball Recap: Lumberton Takes a Loss + How To Watch

Lumberton has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 59-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the E.E. Smith Golden Bulls on Monday.

Leading E.E. Smith to victory were Nick Smith and Patrick Barber. Smith went 7-for-10 on his way to 19 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals, while Barber shot 57% from the field to rack up 20 points and seven boards. The matchup was Smith's third in a row with at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Jackson Williams, who posted ten points and four steals.

Lumberton's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for E.E. Smith, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-2 record this season.

Lumberton will take on Scotland in a holiday battle at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Pirates will be up against the Fighting Scots' rather soft defense (which has allowed 64.83 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for E.E. Smith, they will take on South View in a tournament on Thursday.
