Baseball Game Preview: Alameda Hornets vs. Berkeley Yellowjackets

For the second straight game, Alameda will face off against Berkeley. It'll be a Battle of the Bugs Alameda Hornets face off against Berkeley Yellowjackets at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Alameda hasn't scored more than a single run for three games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Alameda's offense. They fell 3-0 to Berkeley on Tuesday. Surprisingly, this marked the sixth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

For Berkeley's part, not much got past Sasha Spahr, who gave up just two hits and racked up seven Ks to keep Alameda off the board. Spahr also tossed no walks, which is notable because Berkeley is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-4 otherwise.

At the plate, Arson Ormsby was excellent, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one double. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high.

The win made it two in a row for Berkeley and bumps their season record up to 4-5. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 3 runs in those games. As for Alameda, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
