Baseball Recap: McDonald County Takes a Loss

McDonald County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They took a 9-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Clever Blue Jays. The Mustangs were not able to make up for their defeat to the Blue Jays from their previous meeting back in April of 2021.

McDonald County's loss dropped their record down to 2-17. As for Clever, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 10-13 record this season.

McDonald County and Clever could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Missouri Rankings. The Mustangs will face off against Joplin at 4:30 p.m. on Friday with a big rank disadvantage (350 vs. 118). Meanwhile, Clever (ranked 228th) will meet Carthage (ranked 103rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
