Soccer Game Preview: Battlefield vs. Colonial Forge

The Battlefield Bobcats will head out on the road to take on the Colonial Forge Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Battlefield's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for three straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Battlefield is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Woodbridge, sneaking past 1-0. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since March 26, 2019, but that streak is no more.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Colonial Forge, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. Everything went their way against Hylton on Wednesday as they made off with a 4-1 victory. Colonial Forge might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven contests by three goals or more this season.

Colonial Forge has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they scored 23 goals over those six matchups. As for Battlefield, their record now sits at 15-2-1.

Battlefield beat Colonial Forge 2-0 in their previous meeting back in May of 2023. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bobcats since the team won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
