Softball Game Preview: Redwater Dragons vs. New Boston Lions

The Redwater Dragons will head out on the road to take on the New Boston Lions at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Redwater will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each match than the last.

Redwater is headed into the game having just posted their closest win since April 25, 2024 on Tuesday. They had just enough and edged out Atlanta 6-4.

Laney Johnson was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. She also brought in two RBI, marking her first of the season. Kyndlee Clark was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing Four bases. while going 3-for-4.

Johnson wasn't the only one working in the home run department: Redwater lost a few balls and finished the game with two home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since the start of last season.

Meanwhile, New Boston and Overton finished up on equal footing with a 5-5 draw on Saturday.

Redwater's victory bumped their record up to 2-9-1. New Boston's draw gives them a new season record of 5-5-1.

Everything went Redwater's way against New Boston in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, as Redwater made off with a 14-3 win. Will Redwater repeat their success, or does New Boston have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
