Volleyball Recap: Mechanicville Takes a Loss

The Mechanicville Red Raiders came up short against the Saratoga Central Catholic Saints on Monday and fell 3-1. The Red Raiders have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Mechanicville ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 23-25, 25-19, 25-20.

Emery Moser produced another solid effort getting 15 digs, nine kills, two aces, and one block for Saratoga Central Catholic. That's the most digs Moser has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Gia Roche, who had 11 kills, five digs, two aces, and one block.

Mechanicville's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Saratoga Central Catholic, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 10-4-1.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Mechanicville is set to challenge their familiar foe Hoosic Valley at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Saratoga Central Catholic will face off against rival Emma Willard at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.
