Softball Recap: Jefferson County's Winning Streak Snapped at Three Games

After flying high against Seymour on Monday, Jefferson County came back down to earth. The Patriots fell 5-2 to the Knoxville Central Bobcats on Tuesday. The Patriots' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Olivia Mottern spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on eight hits.

Jefferson County's defeat dropped their record down to 13-16-1. As for Knoxville Central, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season.

Jefferson County will be playing in front of their home fans against Greeneville at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Greene Devils will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Patriots surely won't give up without a fight. Knoxville Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
