Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Wildcats vs. Taylor Yellowjackets

The Harrison Wildcats and the Taylor Yellowjackets will compete for holiday cheer at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Harrison is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

If Harrison beats Taylor with 48 points on Thursday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. Harrison breezed by South Dearborn to the tune of 48-8 on Tuesday. Fans of the Wildcats have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

It was another big night for Alli Robertson, who went 10 for 18 on her way to 23 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. Her evening made it 23 games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Smith, who posted six points.

Meanwhile, Taylor took a blow against Ross on Monday, falling 62-21. The Yellowjackets have struggled against the Rams recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Harrison's win was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. As for Taylor, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Harrison didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Taylor when the teams last played back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 67-63 victory. Does Harrison have another victory up their sleeve, or will Taylor turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
