Softball Recap: Garden Grove Extends Home Winning Streak to Four

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Fullerton, Garden Grove was happy to have turned things around on Friday. They walked away with a 10-7 victory over the Loara Saxons. The high-scoring effort was just what the Argonauts needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

Garden Grove let Nevaeh Sosa and Tayler Dooley run wild. Sosa scored three runs and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Dooley scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4. The dominant performance also gave Dooley a new career-high in doubles (two). Hailee Le was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one triple and two RBI.

Garden Grove's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-9. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Loara, their loss dropped their record down to 5-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Garden Grove will host Kennedy at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The contest will give the Argonauts their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Loara, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Orange at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Panthers will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Saxons surely won't give up without a fight.
