Football Recap: Central Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Central extended their losing streak to three on Friday, dropping them down to 1-4. They had to suffer through a 49-7 loss at the hands of the Bishop Guilfoyle Marauders. The Dragons were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 20-0.

Carter Schenk threw for 65 yards and one touchdown. JJ Moushlian was his top target, picking up 37 receiving yards and one TD.

As for Bishop Guilfoyle, their victory was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. That 42 point margin sets a new team best for them this season.

Bishop Guilfoyle found their leader in sophomore Justin Wheeler, who rushed for 97 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 165 yards and one TD. Wheeler didn't just play on offense: he also made five total tackles and defended two passes in addition to snagging an interception. Keegan Hewitt was another key player, rushing for 60 yards and one touchdown on only seven carries.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Central will challenge rival Huntingdon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Bishop Guilfoyle is set to face off against their familiar foe Tyrone at 7:00 p.m. on the 27th. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Marauders 13.4, the Golden Eagles 14.6) so any points scored will be well earned.
