Preview: Veritas Christian Eagles vs. Faith Christian Academy Knights
Veritas Christian has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the Faith Christian Academy Knights at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Thursday, Veritas Christian escaped with a win against Kansas City East Christian Academy by the margin of a single free throw, 32-31. The win was just what Veritas Christian needed coming off of a 53-33 defeat in their prior match.
Rachael Gaspers was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and five steals. That makes it seven consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Veritas Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Nicole Gaspers, who scored two points along with 20 rebounds.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian Academy scored the most points they've had all season to find success last Saturday. They were the clear victor by a 53-33 margin over Veritas Christian. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Faith Christian Academy has posted yet this season.
Veritas Christian's victory bumped their record up to 3-4. As for Faith Christian Academy, their victory was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-3.
Veritas Christian might still be hurting after the 53-33 loss they got from Faith Christian Academy in their previous meeting last Saturday. Can Veritas Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
