Softball Recap: Whitefield Academy Comes Up Short

If Whitefield Academy was riding high fresh off their 14-3 takedown of Brown last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wildcats took a 12-8 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Butler Bears on Monday.

McKenna Sims led a balanced group of hitters, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Gwynnie Franz, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Whitefield Academy's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Butler, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 4-7.

Coming up, Whitefield Academy is taking a road trip to face off against Fern Creek at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Butler, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Atherton at 6:00 p.m.
