Recap: Big Sandy Red Devils vs. McKenzie Rebels
The Big Sandy Red Devils's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by McKenzie at home and fell 65-21. While losing is never fun, Big Sandy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 394th, while McKenzie is ranked 90th).
Despite the loss, Big Sandy still got an impressive performance from Bailey Berry, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 rebounds. That was a full 52.4% of Big Sandy's points, marking the 15th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Big Sandy has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 14 of their last 15 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-19 record this season. As for McKenzie, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-5.
Big Sandy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 64-33 defeat vs. Hollow Rock-Bruceton Central on the 10th. McKenzie does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
