Basketball Game Preview: Notre Dame Titans vs. St. Joseph Central Irish

Two dominant guards in Jaysa Bryant and Ava Gallion are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Notre Dame Titans will wrap up 2024 with a road trip to face off against the St. Joseph Central Irish at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. St. Joseph Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Notre Dame, who comes in off a win.

Last Monday, Notre Dame was able to grind out a solid win over South Gallia, taking the game 44-37.

Notre Dame's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brianne Hicks, who posted 11 points and eight rebounds. That's the most points Hicks has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Laney Strickland, who put up eight points and 12 rebounds.

Meanwhile, St. Joseph Central came up short against Ritchie County on Friday and fell 42-33. The game marked the Irish's lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Notre Dame's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for St. Joseph Central, their loss dropped their record down to 1-5.

Everything came up roses for Notre Dame against St. Joseph Central in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, as the squad secured a 54-11 victory. Will Notre Dame repeat their success, or does St. Joseph Central have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
