The Emmett Huskies will take on the Vallivue Falcons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Emmett put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They fell 53-46 to Skyview. The contest was a 21-21 toss-up at halftime, but the Huskies couldn't quite close it out.
Despite their loss, Emmett saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Nessen Korell, who rushed for 134 yards on only 12 carries, and also picked up 55 receiving yards and one score, was perhaps the best of all. Another passer making a difference was Eli Brennan, who threw for 144 yards and three touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Vallivue blew past Caldwell, posting a 49-6 victory. With the Falcons ahead 43-6 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Emmett better keep an eye on Shane Osuna. He was instrumental in Vallivue's win, throwing for 114 yards and three TDs while completing 80% of his passes.
Vallivue was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 256 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in October of 2024.
The win got Vallivue back to even at 2-2. As for Emmett, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground. Emmett has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 340 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Vallivue struggles in that department as they've been averaging 171.5 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's contest turns into a tough fight on the ground.
