Softball Recap: Venice Comes Up Short

If Venice was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Vanguard last Saturday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Indians lost 8-2 to the Charlotte Fightin' Tarpons on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Indians have suffered since February 27, 2024.

Kinley Rutherford was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3.

With the defeat, Venice broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-4. As for Charlotte, the victory got them back to even at 8-8.

Coincidentally, Venice and Charlotte will both be playing Port Charlotte the next time they take the field. The Fightin' Tarpons will head out to face the Pirates at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Indians will host them at 7:00 p.m. on the 9th.
