Softball Recap: Powdersville Patriots vs. Belton-Honea Path Bears
After flying high against Travelers Rest last Tuesday, Powdersville came back down to earth. The Powdersville Patriots lost 9-3 to the Belton-Honea Path Bears on Tuesday. The Patriots haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team has come up short the last five times they've met.
Powdersville saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kaylie Evatt, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI. Haylee Wettschurack also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Powdersville's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Belton-Honea Path, they pushed their record up to 3-0 with the win, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Powdersville will take on Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Belton-Honea Path, they will be taking part in a tournament against Easley at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
