Basketball Game Preview: Murtaugh Red Devils vs. Oakley Hornets

Murtaugh and Oakley are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2019, but not for long. The Murtaugh Red Devils will face off against the Oakley Hornets at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

On Monday, Murtaugh needed a bit of extra time to put away Dietrich. They came out on top against the Blue Devils by a score of 51-42. The score was all tied up 18-18 at the break, but the Red Devils were the better team in the second half.

Meanwhile, Oakley put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They claimed a resounding 58-28 victory over Glenns Ferry. Fans of the Hornets have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

Murtaugh pushed their record up to 5-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 60.3 points per game. As for Oakley, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Murtaugh and Oakley were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup back in February, but Murtaugh came up empty-handed after a 41-40 loss. Can Murtaugh avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
