Baseball Recap: Logan County Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Logan County proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Todd County Central Rebels, sneaking past 5-4. The Cougars haven't had any issues with the Rebels recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

Logan County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Drew McLellan, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Logan County hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Todd County Central struck out 13 times.

Logan County pushed their record up to 14-5 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Todd County Central, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 8-5.

Coming up, Logan County will face off against South Warren at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Spartans will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something the Cougars surely won't give up without a fight. As for Todd County Central, they will square off against Kirkwood at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. The Cobras have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 8.19 runs per game on average), something the Rebels will no doubt try to take advantage of.
