Basketball Recap: Bergen Charter Takes a Loss

Bergen Charter lost against New Milford back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. Bergen Charter were beaten by the New Milford Knights 74-47. While losing is never fun, Bergen Charter can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 373rd, while New Milford is ranked 164th).

Leading New Milford to victory were Luis Placido and Dariel Liranzo. Placido dropped a double-double on 26 points and 11 rebounds, while Liranzo went 10 of 18 en route to 25 points along with five assists and three steals. Placido's morning made it five games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jake Johnson, who posted nine points and seven boards.

Bergen Charter has traveled a rocky road recently having lost seven of their last eight matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season. As for New Milford, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-6.

Bergen Charter has already played their next game (against Cedar Grove), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. New Milford has already played their next contest, a 57-50 victory against Cresskill on the 30th.
