Softball Recap: United South Find Success

United South's game last Wednesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Friday. They skirted past the Laredo LBJ Wolves 12-10. Considering the Panthers' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Samarah Martinez and Janae Palacios did most of the damage at the plate: Martinez scored two runs and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Palacios scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. Those three hits gave Martinez a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Andrea Guerrero, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-5.

United South now has a winning record of 12-11-1. As for Laredo LBJ, they dropped their record down to 14-7 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight at home.

United South wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next game, a 10-9 loss against Alexander on the 25th. As for Laredo LBJ, they have also already played their next matchup, a 16-6 victory against Del Rio on the 26th.
