Football Recap: Ninety Six Comes Up Short

Ninety Six lost against Abbeville back in September of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Wildcats were beaten by the Panthers 42-7. While losing is never fun, the Wildcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina football rankings (they are ranked 169th, while the Panthers are ranked 46th).

Ninety Six's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Abbeville, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-1.

Looking ahead, Ninety Six will square off against Crescent at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Abbeville, they will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Westside at 7:30 p.m. on the 26th.
