Soccer Game Preview: Staunton vs. Alleghany

The Staunton Storm will take on the Alleghany Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.

Alleghany will square off against a team with plenty of momentum: Staunton extended their winning streak to four on Tuesday. Everything went the Storm's way against Stuarts Draft as they made off with a 12-3 win. The result was nothing new for Staunton, who have now won three matchups by three goals or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Alleghany hadn't done well against James River recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Monday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Knights with a sharp 5-2 victory. With Alleghany ahead 3-0 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

The win got Alleghany back to even at 2-2. As for Staunton, their victory bumped their record up to 4-0.

Staunton beat Alleghany 2-0 when the teams last played back in March. Will the Storm repeat their success, or do the Cougars have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
