Basketball Recap: The Pilgrim Academy Takes a Loss

The Pilgrim Academy lost against Pinelands Regional last Monday and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Pilgrim Academy Pioneers received a blow as they fell 53-36 to the Pinelands Regional Wildcats. That's two games in a row now that the Pioneers have lost by exactly 17 points.

Despite the loss, The Pilgrim Academy still got an impressive performance from Mason Parmer, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds. Parmer is on a roll when it comes to boards, as he's now pulled down nine or more in the last four games he's played. Another player making a difference was Ayden Miller, who posted seven points along with six rebounds and five assists.

This is the second loss in a row for The Pilgrim Academy and nudges their season record down to 3-7. As for Pinelands Regional, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.

The Pilgrim Academy will be playing at home against Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Somerset Bible Baptist Christian Academy will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something The Pilgrim Academy surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pinelands Regional, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Pinelands Regional Wildcats duke it out with the Lacey Township Lions at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
