Football Game Preview: Fairfield Eagles vs. Anahuac Panthers

The Fairfield Eagles will face off against the Anahuac Panthers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Fairfield is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.

Fairfield is headed into the game after thoroughly thrashing Crockett: they outscored them in every quarter. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Eagles blew the Bulldogs out of the water with a 55-21 final score. Fans of the Eagles have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 20+ points.

It was another big night for Kohl Collins, who threw for 294 yards and five TDs while completing 72.7% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Khamrion Ingram, who rushed for 103 yards and a pair of scores on only nine carries.

Fairfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 220 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 220 rushing yards in three consecutive contests.

Fairfield's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Brayden Thornburg, Armando Charles, and Ayden Jones, who each picked up one sack apiece.

Anahuac never got on the board in their matchup back in October, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against Coldspring-Oakhurst last Thursday. They walked away with a 58-47 victory over the Trojans.

Anahuac's win bumped their record up to 3-7. As for Fairfield, their victory bumped their record up to 10-0.
