Volleyball Recap: Iowa-Grant Takes a Loss

Iowa-Grant lost against Seneca back in September of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Panthers fell just short of the Indians by a score of 2-1.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Iowa-Grant sadly dropped the once that decided the match. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-8, 23-25, 15-11.

Layla Ritchie paced Iowa-Grant's offense, picking up seven kills. Ritchie got some help from Rena Pettit and her eight assists. Finally, Ritchie was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Iowa-Grant has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last ten games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-14 record this season. As for Seneca, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 9-1.

Iowa-Grant didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Darlington on the 20th. As for Seneca, they will square off against North Crawford at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
