Basketball Recap: Aarushi Sojitra and Amritha Tatineni Secure Win for Triangle Math & Science

It was a proper cat-fight when Triangle Math & Science challenged River Mill on Monday. The Triangle Math & Science Tigers were the clear victor by a 39-17 margin over the River Mill Jaguars. The win was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on three straight.

Triangle Math & Science was led to victory by Amritha Tatineni and Aarushi Sojitra. Tatineni posted four points in addition to eight rebounds, seven steals, and five assists, while Sojitra dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Those five assists gave Tatineni a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Mennatullah Ibrahim, who put up five points and six rebounds.

Triangle Math & Science smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in five consecutive matches.

Triangle Math & Science is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.4 points per game. As for River Mill, their loss was their eighth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 1-14.

Triangle Math & Science wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 41-30 defeat against Chatham Charter on the 7th. As for River Mill, they will challenge Discovery Charter School at 6:00 p.m. on January 13th.
