Football Preview: Oviedo Lions vs. Wekiva Mustangs

The Oviedo Lions will stay at home for another week and welcome the Wekiva Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Oviedo's favor is that they have posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.

Last Friday, Oviedo was fully in charge, breezing past Lyman 49-14 at home. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 35 points or more this season.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Oviedo's defense and their four sacks. Lyman's QB won't forget Samari Chisolm anytime soon given he sacked him twice. Brady Manning was another major factor on D, making 12 total tackles (1.0 for loss) and defending a pass in addition to snagging an interception.

Meanwhile, Wekiva had to suffer through a 62-17 loss at the hands of Lee County. The Mustangs were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 47-17.

Oviedo's victory bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Wekiva, they now have a losing record at 2-3.
