Basketball Recap: Ahmad Davis' Big Game Can't Quite Lead American History over East Side

American History lost against East Side back in February of 2022 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The American History Eagles took a 53-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the East Side Red Raiders.

American History lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Ahmad Davis, who posted 14 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ah'Zeah Woodard, who scored three points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Even though they lost, American History smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards every time they've taken the court this season.

American History's defeat dropped their record down to 18-7. As for East Side, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season.

American History will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on East Side at 4:00 p.m. on February 20th. As for East Side, they won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Newark Central at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Side is facing Newark Central at the right time seeing as Newark Central is stuck on a three-game losing streak.
