Softball Recap: Lompoc Picks Up Third Straight Win on the Road

Lompoc made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Templeton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lompoc Braves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Templeton Eagles a 14-0 shutout on Friday. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.

The result came thanks to Alex Brooks's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Grace Day and Rianna Stouppe did most of the damage at the plate: Day went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Stouppe scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Day has posted since back in February of 2024. Lynette Miguel also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Lompoc pushed their record up to 4-0 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Templeton, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Lompoc will take on Frontier at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Templeton, they will face off against Mission College Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
