Softball Recap: Lompoc Braves vs. Templeton Eagles
Lompoc made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Templeton, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Lompoc Braves' pitcher stepped up to hand the Templeton Eagles a 14-0 shutout on Friday. The Braves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three contests by 11 runs or more this season.
The result came thanks to Alex Brooks's shutout, as she gave up just five hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up a single earned run in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Grace Day and Rianna Stouppe did most of the damage at the plate: Day went 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and one double, while Stouppe scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. That's the most RBI Day has posted since back in February of 2024. Lynette Miguel also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.
