Basketball Recap: IMG Academy Blue Piles Up the Points Against West Oaks Academy

West Oaks Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Friday IMG Academy Blue proved too difficult a challenge. They claimed a resounding 79-46 win over the West Oaks Academy Flame. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Ascenders' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 265th, while the Flame are ranked 11th).

IMG Academy Blue has also been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a massive bump to their 12-8 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 74.7 points per game. As for West Oaks Academy, their defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-8.

IMG Academy Blue has already played their next contest, a 65-64 win against Florida Coastal Prep on the 25th. As for West Oaks Academy, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 67-53 victory against The Villages Charter on the 24th.
