Heritage and Douglas County are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2015, but not for long. The Heritage Eagles will host the Douglas County Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Heritage's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last six games.
Last Tuesday, Heritage came up short against Regis Jesuit and fell 84-73. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 53rd, while the Raiders are ranked ninth).

Despite the defeat, Heritage got top-tier performance from Trystan Rangel, who went 6-for-14 to rack up 23 points and five assists. The match was Rangel's sixth in a row with at least 16 points. Another player making a difference was Charlie Gilloth, who posted 13 points and six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Douglas County played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 77-46 loss at the hands of ThunderRidge. The Huskies have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Heritage will have to contain Gavin Dale as he made an impact in Douglas County's last game. He went 7-for-15 on his way to 27 points. Those 27 points gave Dale a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Henry Shoemaker, who scored ten points.
Heritage has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-12 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points over those games. As for Douglas County, their loss dropped their record down to 6-16.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Heritage has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 27.1 boards per game. However, it's not like Douglas County struggles in that department as they've been averaging 22.9 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
