Preview: McClintock Chargers vs. Paradise Honors Panthers
The McClintock Chargers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Paradise Honors Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Winning is just a little bit easier when you outrebound your opponent 17 to 3 on the offensive boards, a fact McClintock proved on Thursday. They blew past Marcos de Niza 76-8 at home. The victory made it back-to-back wins for McClintock.
McClintock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Lamaiya Woodberry, who scored 17 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. Malani Reynoso was another key contributor, scoring 19 points.
Meanwhile, Paradise Honors beat Poston Butte 39-29 on Thursday. The win was just what Paradise Honors needed coming off of a 74-44 loss in their prior match.
McClintock's victory bumped their season record to 2-0 while Marcos de Niza's defeat dropped theirs to 1-3.
Everything came up roses for McClintock against Paradise Honors in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 as the team secured a 61-27 win. Will McClintock repeat their success, or does Paradise Honors have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
