Basketball Game Preview: West Greene Buffaloes vs. North Greene Huskies

West Greene hasn't had much luck against North Greene recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The West Greene Buffaloes are taking a road trip to face off against the North Greene Huskies at 6:30 p.m.

West Greene is headed into Saturday's match looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Friday. The game between them and Unaka didn't end well, with West Greene falling 57-43. While losing is never fun, the Buffaloes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while the Rangers are ranked 107th).

Meanwhile, North Greene had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They breezed by the Buccaneers to the tune of 64-27. The Huskies have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 20 points or more this season.

North Greene pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for West Greene, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.

West Greene suffered a grim 57-31 defeat to North Greene in their previous meeting back in December of 2024. Can West Greene avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
