Palm Harbor University is 8-1 against Clearwater since March of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. Palm Harbor University took a seven-run loss the last time they faced off against East Lake, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Palm Harbor University had just enough and edged out East Lake 7-6. The win was some much needed relief for the Hurricanes as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Clearwater). They blew past Lakewood 17-9 on Friday. Surprisingly, this marked the fourth straight game that the away team has come away the victor.

Dylan Wood made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

Wood wasn't the only one making solid contact as eight players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eduardo Alfredo-Montero, who scored four runs and stole Five bases. while going 4-for-5. Alfredo-Montero is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played. Another was Jackson King, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.

Clearwater was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .447. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.

Clearwater is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. Palm Harbor University's victory bumped their record up to 4-7.

Palm Harbor University took their win against Clearwater in their previous matchup back in February of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0. Does Palm Harbor University have another victory up their sleeve, or will Clearwater turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
