Basketball Recap: Fredericksburg Academy Takes a Loss

Fredericksburg Academy played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 41-14 loss at the hands of the Wakefield School Fighting Owls . The Falcons haven't had much luck with the Fighting Owls recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Joelle Domfeh was a one-woman wrecking crew for Wakefield School as she dropped a double-double on 15 points and ten steals. Domfeh is crushing it when it comes to steals: she's grabbed at least three every time she's taken the court this season. Another player making a difference was Meira Barnaby, who posted 14 points in addition to five rebounds and five steals.

Fredericksburg Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 3-5. As for Wakefield School, they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season.

While Fredericksburg Academy had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
