Tampa Catholic suffered their closest defeat since April 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Armwood Hawks by a score of 5-3.

Tampa Catholic got a good showing from Jack Giovenco, who tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Giovenco posted four strikeouts, the most he's had over his last six matchups.

On the hitting side, Daniel Smythe was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in hits.
