Basketball Recap: Delavan Takes a Loss

Delavan lost against Canton back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Delavan Panthers came up short against the Canton Little Giants, falling 74-48.

When it comes to explaining why Delavan lost, don't look at Bryson Horning. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 18 on his way to 25 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Kelton Nafzinger, who posted six points.

Delavan has been struggling recently as they've lost nine of their last 11 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-13 record this season. As for Canton, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.

Delavan didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 52-7 victory against Greenview on the 4th. As for Canton, they will host Pekin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
