The De La Salle Meteors will venture away from home to face off against the Marian Catholic Spartans at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. De La Salle is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.1 runs per game this season.

De La Salle blew St. Francis out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Saturday St. Francis got their revenge. The Meteors fell just short of the Spartans by a score of 3-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Meteors have suffered against the Spartans since April 12, 2016.

De La Salle saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Samara Agredano, who went 1-for-3 with one run.

Meanwhile, Marian Catholic played in-conference for the first time on Saturday and got just the result they were looking for. They skirted past Saint Viator 5-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Spartans.

Jackie Pollock spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on four hits and racked up 12 Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Mya Davis was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run and two runs.

This is the second loss in a row for De La Salle and nudges their season record down to 23-9. As for Marian Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 10-15.

De La Salle was able to grind out a solid victory over Marian Catholic in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 5-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Meteors since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
