Trent Hites of Kenton and Anthony Digioia of Davidson Day filling big shoes; Cole Martin sets pair of South Carolina state records.

A pair of quarterbacks with big shoes to fill had two of the top performances in this week's list of National Football Stat Stars.
Trent Hites of Kenton (Ohio) took over for Grant Sherman, last year's national passing leader, while Anthony Digioia of Davidson Day replaced the nation's No. 4 all-time passing leader in Will Grier.
Hites had his biggest day of the season in leading Kenton (9-2) to a 49-14 playoff win over Port Clinton by completing 27 of 37 passes for 525 yards and six touchdowns. He raised his season yardage total to 3,172 yards to go with 27 touchdowns. The 525 yards ranks as the fifth-highest total in school history and the No. 21 performance in state history.
Hites will face one of the nation's leading passers this week when Kenton takes on Triway and its quarterback Parker Carmichael, who threw for 454 yards last week.
Digioia, meanwhile, led Davidson Day to a 61-13 playoff win over North Raleigh Christian Academy (Raleigh, N.C.) by throwing for a season-high 483 yards (34 of 45) with six touchdowns. Digioia has thrown for 2,547 yards and 27 touchdowns on the year.
Cole Martin of Nation Ford set a South Carolina state record for completions and attempts in a single game by completing 49 of 76 passes for 408 yards and five touchdowns in 35-33 loss to Rock Hill. The 49 completions rank seventh all-time in national history while the 76 attempts rank sixth-best all-time.
If Tyrie Adams of Dixie Hollins (St. Petersburg, Fla.) had put together his 598-yard passing performance in a loss to Tarpon Springs (Fla.) last month, he would have set a state record. However since Tucker Israel of Lake Nona recently had two passing yardage efforts of over 600 yards, Adams will have to settle for the third-best passing performance in Florida history.
Jared Reagan of Booker (Texas) continues to climb all-time national receiving lists. Following his nine catches for 216 yards and two touchdowns in a 62-0 win over Wheeler, Reagan now has 376 receptions for 5,090 yards and 54 touchdowns. He ranks second all-time nationally in receptions behind Justin Sawmiller of Kenton (Ohio), who had 445. His yardage total is 10th all-time and second in state history behind Jordan Shipley's 5,424 yards.
