Osceola extends road losing streak to five

Recap: Osceola Seminoles vs. Rivercrest Colts

The Osceola Seminoles suffered their biggest loss since November 21, 2023 on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Rivercrest, falling 53-22. Osceola was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 32-10.

Leading Rivercrest to victory were Zakiyah Brownlee and Destiny Burks. Brownlee scored 16 points along with seven rebounds and five blocks, while Burks scored 20 points along with six steals and five assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brownlee has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Mykayla Banks, who scored seven points along with five assists and five steals.

Osceola bumped their record down to 2-10 with that loss, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 28.8 points per game. As for Rivercrest, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 9-6.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Osceola will face off against Manila at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Manila presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Osceola in Arkansas (Manila is ranked 59th, while Osceola is ranked 234th). Rivercrest won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Corning at 5:00 p.m. on January 12th. Corning is coming into the match hot, having won their last nine games.
