Softball Recap: Tuesday's Victory Is Desert Ridge's Sixth in Last Eight Outings

While Desert Ridge's victory against Higley wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Jaguars narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Knights 6-4. The Jaguars have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Knights on Tuesday, too.

Brooklyn Parks was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024. Jersay Overman also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

Desert Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. They are 11-3 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.

Desert Ridge has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.9 runs on average over those games. As for Higley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-14-1.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Desert Ridge beat the Knights by a score of 8-7 on Thursday.
