Softball Recap: Foothill Cougars vs. Yamhill-Carlton Tigers
It was a proper cat-fight when Foothill duked it out with Yamhill-Carlton on Friday. Foothill walked away with a 7-2 victory over Yamhill-Carlton. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Cougars.
Elisea Wiegand was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent : she hasn't given up more than two walks in eight consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.
In other batting news, Foothill let Malia Webb and Hazel Gist run wild. Webb scored two runs while going 1-for-3, while Gist scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-2. That stolen base marked the first that Gist snagged this season.
