Soccer Recap: Marple Newtown Takes a Loss

Despite a strong season so far, Marple Newtown has seen their luck take a bit of a downturn recently. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Springfield Cougars. Marple Newtown were not able to make up for their loss to Springfield from their previous meeting back in October of 2024.

Marple Newtown's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3-5. As for Springfield, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Marple Newtown is set to challenge their familiar foe Conestoga at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Springfield will face off against rival Garnet Valley at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
