Basketball Recap: Aedyn Tribelhorn's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Otis over Briggsdale

Otis was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 49-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Briggsdale Falcons. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Falcons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 49-35 back in January.

Otis' defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Aedyn Tribelhorn, who posted 16 points and three steals. Tribelhorn has been hot recently, having posted three or more steals the last three times she's played. Another player making a difference was Madelyn Willeke, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine rebounds.

Briggsdale got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Kayl Klem out in front who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 13 boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Bailey Loyd, who went 6-for-11 on her way to 15 points.

Otis now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Briggsdale, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season.

Otis will be taking part in a tournament against Prairie at 3:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Briggsdale, they will take on Idalia in a tournament on Friday. Idalia will roll in looking for their tenth straight win, something Briggsdale surely won't give up without a fight.
